Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Overview
Comni (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a platform that helps you build a community, support inbox, announcements, and knowledge base around your product. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Comni, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we collect the name and email associated with that provider.
- Content you create. Messages, community posts, articles, announcements, feedback, support tickets, and other content you submit to Comni.
- Visitor data. When visitors interact with your embedded widget, we collect information such as their IP address, approximate location, pages visited, and messages they send.
- Usage data. Log data such as device type, browser, and timestamps of activity, used to operate and improve the Service.
- Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Whop. We do not store or process your credit card details; those are handled by Whop under its own privacy policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and maintain the Service, authenticate you, send transactional emails (such as password resets and invitations), process payments, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and improve our product. We may use AI features to help draft and organize content you create.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make Comni work, and only to the extent necessary:
- Hosting & infrastructure. Supabase (PostgreSQL and authentication) and our cloud provider.
- Email delivery. Providers used to send transactional emails on our behalf.
- Payments. Whop, for subscription billing and payment processing.
- Identity providers. Google and GitHub, only if you choose to sign in with them.
Content you publish to your organization's public pages (community, announcements, articles) is visible to anyone who visits that page.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, though some parts of the Service may not function properly.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or billing reasons.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
Organization owners control the content in their workspace and can delete messages, articles, and member data from the dashboard.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, and follow industry security practices to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Comni is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
